About PRPC
Portland Rifle and Pistol Club (PRPC) was established in 1913, dedicated to encouraging organized rifle and pistol shooting, hosting competitions and events to promote education of the public in the safe, efficient handling of small arms.
Our 50 foot indoor range accommodates air guns, rifles or pistols of .22 long rifle, or non-jacketed pistol loads with muzzle velocities below 1,000 feet per second. Two 21 foot bullet trap lanes can accommodate jacketed pistol rounds. The range is accessible 24 hours a day, though between 9PM and 9AM only airguns or rimfire rounds are allowed. We do not have facilities to accommodate muzzle loading, center fire rifle cartridges, or shotguns.
PRPC is not oriented to “defensive” or “action” pistol disciplines and we can not allow drawing from a holster. For “action shooting,” shotguns, or centerfire rifle shooting there are other clubs in the area, for instance Tri-County Gun Club.
The club has teams that practice weekly and compete in Bullseye Pistol and Smallbore Rifle. PRPC also sponsors a Juniors Program for rifle shooters between the ages of (12 through 18)
